I am so proud of my friend Revon Yousif. It's cool meeting the actors on Empire, but now I can say that my friend is on it. Let's all support our Detroit kid throughout this journey.
(Detroit, MI – March 16, 2017) – Detroit actor Revon Yousif will appear on an episode of Empire, where he’ll be playing an R&B singer opposite of Terrence Howard and Jussie Smollett.
Currently in its 3rd season, Empire is set to return for its spring premiere on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Yousif will appear on the 15th episode of this season, which will air on April 26, 2017 at 9/8c.
Born in Detroit, and raised in Sterling Heights, Yousif began his career after graduating from Stevenson High School in 2009. After landing small roles on big studio films including Scream 4 and LOL, Yousif went on to star in 2101; an independent feature film directed by award winning director, Kyle Misak. Yousif recently took home the Best Performance award for the short film, Amnesia; an entry to the 24-Hour Film Challenge put on by his Alma Mater, Oakland University.
“Revon is an extremely talented actor with a lot of potential. He’s the kind of guy who’s willing to show up early, stay late, and do as many shots as it takes to get a scene right," Misak said.
In 2016, Yousif was named one of four finalists out of 6,000 contestants in the nationwide search for FOX’s Next Empire Artist. Aside from the competition, Revon had auditioned for two different roles for the show before finally getting cast as “Harry”, an R&B singer.
“Acting and singing are the two things I love doing most; so being able to do both on a show that I’m a huge fan of, is a dream come true” said Yousif.
Yousif, who recently re-located to Chicago, is represented by Emily Rabinowitz of BMG Chicago who signed him two years ago after seeing his audition tape for NBC’s Chicago Fire.
