Sad news for Detroit Red Wings fans. After 15 seasons, Henrik Zetterberg is reportedly hanging up the skates. Zetterberg has been our team captain since 2012 and without a doubt, one of the best in franchise history. On Friday it was announced that his career is coming to an end due to back issues.
"Obviously, it is emotional," Zetterberg said while addressing media at Centre I.C.E. during the first day of training camp. "It's been 15 years here. Even though I knew I was on my last couple years, I wish that I could have played a little bit longer."
