List of Warming Centers, Emergency Shelters in Detroit

We had a big snow storm hit us in Metro Detroit on Monday and now we have record-breaking low temperatures headed our way. The city of Detroit and a couple of organizations are working to open warming centers for the homeless who are unable to stay in a shelter.

According to The Neighborhoods website , the three centers will operate daily throughout the winter months and can accommodate up to 165 people at a time. When temperatures drop to 10 degrees or lower, services will be extended to daytime hours.

The homeless can be picked up by organizations that offer outreach services or be referred by other homeless agencies. The centers will provide two hot meals, counseling, sleeping and showring accommodations.
