The Make A Wish foundation is very near and dear to my heart. I want to invite you to join my team at the Walk for Wishes at the Detroit Zoo on May 4 beginning at 9a. This event supports raising funds to grant the wishes of Michigan kids battling critical illnesses. I have not only gained a lot of friend through this organization, but I gained a "little brother" which you will find out more about below.
This event inspired me to participate in the 31st annual Make a Wish Wish-A-Mile Bicycle Tour in July of 2018, a 300-mile bike ride from Traverse City to EATON Proving Grounds in Marshall, Michigan.
Below you see a photo of the kid that inspired me to do it. A Make-A-Wish kid, now my "little brother," Zach. I met him at the radio station a while ago, but it was very brief. I then saw him at the Walk For Wishes in 2018. I will never forget the moment when I was speaking to Make-A-Wish representatives that were sharing info about this bike ride when Zach looked at me and said, "Come on Joey, you can do it. Do it for me!" How can you say no to that? Even though I 100% didn't want to ride a bike 300 miles at the moment.
Zach is only 8 years old and is battling Evan's Syndrome. #TeamZachStrong
