Mother skips her own commencement for son's at CMU, CMU gives her degree

Many students around the country received their college degrees this weekend but this weekend will always be special for the Wilson family.

Sharonda Wilson was scheduled to receive her undergraduate degree from Ferris State today but was unable to attend due to her son Stephan also receiving his degree from Central Michigan University. Sharonda sacrificed and went to her son's commencement in Mount Pleasant.

Unbeknownst to the Wilson's, CMU's President Dr. Rob Davies was in contact with Ferris State's President, Dr. David Eisler.

President Davies then did something very special for Sharonda Wilson...He awarded Wilson her degree on behalf of Ferris State.

What a great moment for the Wilson's and huge props to Central Michigan University and Ferris State University
