R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty To New Charges, But Remains In Jail

Yesterday, a federal judge ordered that R. Kelly stay put in a Chicago jail without bond on all of those new sex-related charges because he failed to convince the court that he would not commit new crimes if he were to be released.

The singer pleaded not guilty to 13 federal charges from an indictment released in Illinois last week.

R. Kelly currently faces charges in Chicago and New York that include having sex with minors (let's be real and say CHILDREN) and attempting to pay off families of the victims.

An assistant US attorney said R. Kelly is "an extreme danger to the community, especially minor girls” and feels he could flee if released.

They also said, ”If he was attracted in 1999 to middle school girls, he's still attracted to middle school girls. It’s who the defendant is and that, your honor, makes him a danger today.”
