Lady Gaga Sued For Allegedly Copying "Shallow"

Lady Gaga is being threatened with a multimillion-dollar legal case by songwriter named Steve Ronsen who claimed the melody of her song, “Shallow” was stolen from a song he released in 2012.

Ronsen said a three-note progression in “Shallow” is based on his song “Almost.” He said the three notes, “G, A, B” correspond to the “Shallow” chorus lyrics, “I’m Falling” and “longing for change.”

Gaga has hired a lawyer who said Ronsen is just trying to make easy money from the singer. Her legal team also said the note progression is very common and the two songs sound nothing alike.

“Shallow” was recorded by Gaga and Bradley Cooper, and was released as the lead single on the soundtrack for “A Star Is Born” in which the two starred.
