Elon Musk said SpaceX will rescue the International Space Station if Russia attempts to drop it from orbit after threats by Vladimir Putin's space chief.

Russia’s space chief tweeted, “If you block cooperation with us, who will save the ISS from an uncontrolled deorbit and fall into the United States or Europe?"

Elon responded by tweeting the logo of his company, SpaceX.

President Joe Biden said Thursday that the "additional strong sanctions" will "degrade (Russia's) aerospace industry, including their space program.”

Musk appeared to confirm that SpaceX would get involved, should the ISS fall out of orbit. A Twitter user asked if that's what the tech mogul really meant, to which Musk simply replied, "Yes."

Musk made the comments on Saturday, just hours after SpaceX’s Starlink satellite broadband service was made available in Ukraine. He also tweeted that SpaceX is sending more terminals to Ukraine, whose internet has been disrupted due to the Russian invasion.

Officials think internet access can help defeat Russian propaganda, and expose atrocities being carried out by Putin's troops
