House plants can make a significant difference in reducing air pollution in rooms.

New research shows that three specific house plants can reduce pollution by as much as 20 percent! Those three plants are the corn plant (Dracaena fragrans), peace lily (Spathiphyllum wallisii), and fern arum (Zamioculcas zamiifolia).

The University of Birmingham and in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) conducted this study of house plants, and put each into a chamber containing levels of nitrogen dioxide to see how it would react.
