It's not secret: Avatar was amazing. Easily one of the best movies of all-time, and that's no hyperbole. I think it was the last movie that I actually paid to see twice in theaters.
Since the movie came out in 2009 there have been tons of rumors about the sequels and they've been on and off, actors bailing and all of that. Well, now that can be put to rest. The Facebook page for James Cameron's hit movie announced the release dates for the next four sequels...yeah, four!!
The first sequel will hit theaters December of 2020, the next December 2021, then 2024 and 2025. Sure, it's still a long wait, but there is no doubt it will be so worth it.
