College Student Claims Airline Forced Her To Flush Hamster

A college student flushed her pet hamster down the toilet, claiming that it was suggested by a Spirit Airlines employee. Yep, you read that correctly. The student says she had gotten the green light to bring the hamster, Pebbles, on board in an e-mail from Spirit. When she arrived at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, the airline wouldn't allow Pebbles on board. She then said the airline employee suggested she either let the hamster go outside, or flush it down the toilet. Now this girl, Belen Aldecosea, wants to sue the airline. Spirit is denying all claims of the employee telling this girl to flush her hamster saying "After researching this incident, we can say confidently that at no point did any of our agents suggest this guest (or any other for that matter) should flush or otherwise injure an animal," Spirit spokesman Derek Dombrowski said. "It is incredibly disheartening to hear this guest reportedly decided to end her own pet's life."

I have so many questions here. First of all, an emotional support hamster? Weird, but whatever. Second of all, as long as she had proper documentation there's absolutely no reason why little Pebbles shouldn't of been allowed on aboard. Third of all, at the end of the day this girl made the decision to FLUSH HER HAMSTER DOWN A TOILET. WHO DOES THAT???????????????? RIP Pebbles. You deserved better.

This tweet just about sums it up:
