Lead singer of Maroon 5 Adam Levine had a strong take on this years VMA nominations. He took to twitter to voice his displeasure with MTV about Childish Gambino's song "This Is America" not being nominated for a single award.
Levine took to social media and said in a now deleted post:
"This year, Childish Gambino released one of the most impactful, thought-provoking, and intelligent videos ever made," Levine began. "I'm sure he doesn't care that he wasn't nominated for a VMA because he's cool as f**k and everything. But I care. Because I'm NOT that cool. And I still want MTV to mean something again. But it won't. Ever. K bye."
After Levine posted this on social media he quickly found out that "This Is America" is nominated for SEVEN awards:
- Video of The Year
- Video with A Message
- Best Cinematography
- Best Direction
- Best Art Direction
- Best Choreography
- Best Editing
After finding out all the awards "This is America" is nominated for Levine went back to social media to put his foot in his mouth. (Warning for language)
