Around Christmas time, it's a safe bet that there's a lot of valuable stuff going through the mail.
But if you were in charge of handling mail, would you be tempted to steal that valuable stuff?
Probably not, unless you were Latasha Lopez, who was a processing clerk with the United States Postal Service.
She got caught because someone in Clinton Township reported a $100 Kohl's gift card missing. It was discovered that Lopez redeemed the gift card and then paid for the rest with her own debit card! Talk about a dumb criminal!
Not too hard for investigators to crack that case. Faced with that evidence, she confessed.
