Julia Michaels is one of the most iconic forces in pop music and it is about time everyone starts treating her like the queen that she is.
Most people know Julia for her BOP of a song “Issues”, but what they don't realize is that she's written literally every song on the radio (I made that statistic up but it’s basically true). Ever heard of a little ditty called “Sorry” by Justin Bieber? Julia Michaels. “Close” by Nick Jonas and Tove Lo? Julia Michaels. “Love Myself” by Hailee Steinfeld? Julia Michaels. “2002” by Anne Marie? Julia Michaels. My personal favorite, “Bad Liar”, by Selena Gomez? Everyone say it with me now, JULIA FREAKING MICHAELS.
While those songs aren’t even a fraction of her writing credits and should win her all the praise and admiration in the world, what is even more impressive is the music she writes for herself. Do yourself a favor and treat your ears to the three EPs she’s already released, but warning, they will leave you NEEDING more. After one listen you’ll be scream singing along to "Pink" and ready to tattoo the lyrics of "Happy" across your forehead.
In all seriousness, I think she is one of the most inspirational and relatable artists in the industry and her music has something that nobody else’s does. My girl Jules deserves a lot more credit than she gets, so now that I’ve made my point, please join me as we bow down and stan a LEGEND.
