Wendy Williams Tells Gay Men 'Stop Wearing Our Skirts,' Gets Dragged For It

Wendy Williams had a few words for the LGBTQ community, and they had some for her too.

Williams is currently being dragged for the controversial opinions she expressed about gay men during Thursday’s (February 13) broadcast of The Wendy Williams Show. The talk show host was discussing Galentine’s Day — a made-up holiday in which women celebrate each other — in her Hot Topics segment of the show when turned her attention to a couple of men in the audience.

“If you’re a man and you’re clapping, you’re not even a part of this. You don’t understand the rules of the day. It’s women going out and getting saucy and then going home,” Williams said. “I don’t care if you’re gay. You don’t get a [menstruation] every 28 days. You can do a lot that we do, but I get offended by the idea that we go through something you will never go through.”

“And stop wearing our skirts and our heels. Just saying, girls, what do we have for ourselves?” the 55-year-old demanded, before adding insult to injury with the remark many LGBTQ viewers took offense to: “Looky here now, gay men, you’ll never be the women that we are. No matter how gay.”

“You’re not the decider of who can be a woman. Every person gets to decide who they are,” one user tweeted, calling Williams’ remarks “anti trans.” Another user wrote: “Woah... did @WendyWilliams just say gay men need to stop wearing high heels & skirts ??? Crazy because a lot of Gay men & Trans men support her because SHE LOOKS ALOT LIKE THEM! I am a Straight woman & I was offended! Some s—t you should KEEP TO YOURSELF”
