Four Spartan Seniors Shine In Senior Celebrations On Ice

The Michigan State women’s hockey program recognized its four Division 1 seniors, Maddie Wolsmann, Allison Lariviere, Amelia Schroeder, and Julia Lutz on Sunday, February 16 as part of its annual senior celebration.

This year’s Division senior class has posted a career record of 63-32-3 from 2016-17 to 2019-20. The seniors have assisted with tallying 464 goals in four years, while allowing 237 in their careers. 

The Division 1 Michigan State University women’s hockey team took on their last regular season series with Adrian College as their opponents this past weekend. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs completed the sweep with 5-2 and 5-3 wins in the home-and-home series with the Spartans. The green and white finish the regular season at 14-4-1 for the 2019-20 season.

The Spartans look to the CCWHA league playoffs set to take place February 28-March 1 in Flint, MI. Schedule to be released next week, however the Spartans have secured the No. 2 seed and will have a bye into the second round on Saturday, February 29 with a 12:15pm game time.

The star of the weekend series was Allison Lariviere, who played in 95 games as a Spartan. Lariviere has a career high 10 points (3g, 7a) her freshman season, and has 32 total career points** (14g, 18a). Lariviere was appointed as an alternate captain for the 2019-2020 season, her first as a captain. A right-handed forward from Michigan, she is the daughter of Mark and Rita Lariviere and graduates with a degree in Human Biology. Her father Mark was a star on the ice in his day as well as in the desert where he served our country with honor during the Gulf War.
