The award-winning Laker Marching Band Council show planning committee announced the 2020 show themes which proves to be both entertaining and socially-conscious.
The first show of the season will feature a 70's Music Flashback Show on September 19th featuring tunes from Elton John, Dolly Parton and of course, the disco era. On October 17, GVSU will play a part in mental health awareness with their "Break The Stigma" halftime show, featuring emotionally moving songs by Demi Lovato, Simon & Garfunkel and The Greatest Showman.
A Veterans Day salute on November 14th will feature the Battle Hymn Of The Republic, Stars And Stripes Forever, an Armed Forces medley and a special recognition of LMB Seniors and student teachers. Other performances of the 2020 season will feature song selections from Billie Eilish, John Denver and the Broadway hit "Hamilton" to round out a much-anticipated season. This year's Halloween show and all 2020 halftime shows will once again be directed by the very talented and animated John Martin, Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University.
