Michigan Desperately Needs Substitute Teachers

COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on our pool of substitute teachers. Michigan is bracing for a shortage of subs in the upcoming school year and has started hiring permanent floating substitutes in case they are needed. Some college students with at least 60 credits may be eligible to apply as part time substitute teachers as well. Part of the problem is college students not pursuing careers in education.
