Miley Cyrus has been making the virtual rounds ever since the pandemic hit, performing her latest single "Midnight Sky" on various talk shows and festivals. She's also been treating fans to covers. Last month, the pop star shared her love for rock by covering Blondie's "Heart of Glass" at the iHeartradio Festival, and on Saturday night (October 17) she took it a step further by putting her spin on The Cranberries' "Zombie" and The Cure's "Boys Don't Cry" during her Save Our Stages Fest (aka #SOSFest) set.
Cyrus was one of 35 artists to perform remotely from 25 independent music venues across the country over the weekend, opting to play her three-song set at the Whisky a Go Go on Hollywood's famed Sunset Strip. Though she played inside a club, no fans were in attendance.
The three-day virtual event was created to benefit the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA)'s Emergency Relief Fund. At time of writing, the benefit festival has raised over $1 million of its $5 million goal to help ensure independent music venues survive the pandemic.
