On This Day 16 Years Ago: Malice At The Palace

On November 19th, 2004, the most famous brawl in the history of the NBA happened at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The fight involved both fans and players and started when a fan threw a drink at Pacers player Ron Artest who ran into the stands and started throwing punches and someone he incorrectly thought threw the drink. The whole hubub resulted in the suspension of a total of 9 players for 146 games and resulted in $11 Million in lost salary. 5 Pacers players and 5 Pistons fans were charged with assault and battery as well. Lets hope we never see anything like this again.
