Zach Braff and Donald Faison, along with their podcast producers Joelle and Dan, have been serving up classic episodes of their insanely popular Scrubs rewatch podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends for over a month! But it’s okay because they were all working on some amazing projects during that time, and now they’re back to binge-watching the iconic sitcom that brought them together. On this episode, they catch up about all the cool things they’ve been doing while they were on break, tantalize us by teasing some upcoming, very hush-hush projects, and start setting up a fake but hilarious beef with the New Girl rewatch podcast (also produced by Joelle and Dan), Welcome To Our Show.

In the month since they’ve put out a new episode, Zach has filmed his new movie A Good Person, starring Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman; Donald has been hard at work with his stop-motion animation action comedy series about a Black Indiana Jones-style character named Alabama Jackson (voiced by Donald) who’s traveling through time to save Black history with Harriet Tubman (voiced by Wanda Sykes). Everyone is super charmed when they learn that Donald got his mom, Harlem theater legend and talent agent Shirley Faison, involved in the writing and his nephew, rapper Isaiah Poet, to make some music for it. And Dan and Joelle have been bossing it up as podcast producers; Joelle helped launch a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative called NextUp that brought eight creators from marginalized communities into the iHeart family and helped them professionally produce their first podcast.

But the most contentious new project – all in good fun, of course – is Zooey Deschanel’s rewatch podcast. Joelle produces and Dan edits, and the guys are a little concerned that this new show will pull their focus from Fake Doctors. “If they stole our sidekicks, we would be furious,” Zach warns them, and Donald agrees: “There would be so much beef.” At least they can rest assured that this show has something Welcome never could: “I don’t think they’ll get as racy as we get, they seem like wholesome people,” Zach muses. “I mean, we’ve talked about the girth of Donald’s shaft here!” Hear this hilarious and freewheeling conversation between these four – and mark your calendars for some cool content coming soon – on this episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends
