A man in Wisconsin definitely tried to make the best of the situation he found himself in when he got locked in a beer cooler. Jeremy Van Ert told police that he went to buy some beer and ended up getting locked in the walk-in cooler around 11:50 p.m. He decided that rather than try to get out, he would help himself to the beer instead. A customer told employees that Van Ert was inside the cooler around 5:50 a.m.
He was let out of the cooler, but ended up leaving without paying for what he enjoyed while imprisoned in the cooler: an 18-ounce bottle of beer and three cans of malt liquor, and tripped and broke three cases of beer while on his way out.
He did not get away empty-handed, though. His night ended up costing him a misdemeanor citation for retail theft.
