Ibtihaj Muhammad is an Olympic fencer who will have a Barbie doll created in her likeness. Mattel is creating the doll as part of their "Shero" line of dolls honoring those women who inspire others. As part of the line, a one-of-a-kind doll is created and auctioned off to a charity of the "Shero's" choice.
Ibtihaj's doll is unique as it will be the first doll Mattel has made wearing a hijab. Mattel says that “Ibtihaj continues to inspire women and girls everywhere to break boundaries.” While she says that the doll is "a dream come true."
