The Oscar Thief Has Been Charged, And Could Be Going To Prison!

During the Governors Ball after the Oscars, Frances McDormand's "Best Actress" Oscar statue was swiped from her table. And now the thief is behind bars. His name is Terry Bryant, and apparently has seven prior mug shots, so clearly this isn't too out of character for him. This video of Bryant with an Oscar that is most certainly not his is so cringey that you HAVE to wonder WHAT he was thinking!

So yes, Bryant made off with the golden statue, but luckily he was stopped by a man who works as a photographer for Wolfgang Puck who seemed to realize that something did not add up.

McDormand has said that she did not wish to press charges against Bryant, but her Oscar is technically owned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and they have decided to press charges. Bryant is currently behind bars where he was unable to post $20,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to three years in state prison.
