Drunk driving is terrible. There's no excuse to ever do it, and now with services like Uber and Lyft, it's easier than ever to get home safely after a night of drinking.
The legal BAC limit here in Michigan is .08, which matches the vast majority of states in the US.
However, a new bill was introduced in the Michigan legislature that would lower the limit to .05, which would match Utah for the lowest in the country.
Personally, I don't like it. I think it's basically just an attempt for police departments to make more money off of DUI arrests.
I actually have a breathalyzer that I use just for curiosity, and I can tell you that .05 is really not that much.
The state of Utah just hates alcohol, and I don't think that their alcohol laws are anything we should be striving for.
