Michigan Bill Proposes .05 BAC for DUIs

Drunk driving is terrible. There's no excuse to ever do it, and now with services like Uber and Lyft, it's easier than ever to get home safely after a night of drinking.

The legal BAC limit here in Michigan is .08, which matches the vast majority of states in the US.

However, a new bill was introduced in the Michigan legislature that would lower the limit to .05, which would match Utah for the lowest in the country.

Personally, I don't like it. I think it's basically just an attempt for police departments to make more money off of DUI arrests.

I actually have a breathalyzer that I use just for curiosity, and I can tell you that .05 is really not that much.

The state of Utah just hates alcohol, and I don't think that their alcohol laws are anything we should be striving for.
