Despite facing the battles of cancer, Ms. Wouters, a Chippewa Valley High School teacher and varsity volleyball coach, stays positive every day in front of her students on social media. On January 10th, Ms. Wouters was diagnosed with lung cancer. She is only 27 years old and this was quite a surprise and happened so fast. Within a few days, her doctor contacted her again with more bad news that the cancer was stage 4 and had also began spreading to her brain.
She is currently off work and receiving treatment. Chippewa Valley students had put together a basketball benefit night to help raise funds to help with her medical costs and her former coworkers and friends are putting together another fundraiser night. The event will be held at the Italian American Cultural Center on Thursday, February 9. There will be baskets and prizes, including a backstage pass to sit in during the Mojo in the Morning show, raffled off that evening and all money raised will go directly to helping Nichole pay for the treatment that she needs.
