An AMBER ALERT has been issued for a missing 2-year-old girl out of Detroit. Our phones just went off in the studio.

Sondra Renee was forcefully taken from a relative's house on Detroit's west side around 2:30a on Tuesday morning.

Police say the suspect's name is Grady Barrett, and had a weapon when he took the girl. The weapon has not been identified.

The girl was taken from a house in the 21400 block of Karl, which is her aunt's home on the west side of Detroit near Seven Mile and Lahser roads. The aunt was babysitting for the mother.

Reports say, Barrett drove off in a black 2009 GMC Sierra pick-up truck with the Michigan license plate DAS-8417. A trailer is attached to the truck with the Michigan plate D476667. The  trailer also had a sign on the side that reads G&G Landscaping, Snow Removal and Grass Cutting.

Barrett is 6 feet tall, weighs 278 lbs. and has a thick beard and mustache.

Sondra is 2 feet 5 inches tall and has brown eyes and braids in her hair.

Police say the suspect is the boyfriend of Sondra's mother, and that he is not the biological father of Sondra.

This is a developing story. Stay with our friends at FOX 2 for updates.
