Betty White turns 96 on January 17 and in honor of her birthday, Parade sat down with the award-winning actress to get all her sage life advice.
“Enjoy life,” Betty shared. “Accentuate the positive, not the negative. It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”
She added that she also enjoys vodka and hot dogs, “probably in that order.”
Humor, Betty continued, is a big part of her health and happiness.
“I know it sounds corny, but I try to see the funny side and the upside, not the downside,” she added. “I get bored with people who complain about this or that. It’s such a waste of time.”
She’s also still crushing on hunky 81-year-old film vet Robert Redford, who makes her bucket list every year. “But it never works,” she joked. “I try every year.”
