Aretha Franklin Is Receiving Hospice Care
Aretha Franklin is in hospice, or end-of-life, care at her home in the Detroit area, CNN Reports.
The news comes just two days after Showbiz 411 reported that the 76-year-old singer was "gravely ill" and surrounded by her family and those closest to her.
A source later told TMZ that he was told a week ago, "Prepare yourself, she's dying" and "she could go any time." The insider added that Aretha, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, was down to 86 pounds and her health was failing.
Beyonce and Jay-Z even dedicated their "On The Run II Tour" performance in Detroit (Aretha's hometown) on Monday to the 76-year-old singer which you can see in the video below. "We love you and thank you for all the beautiful music," Beyonce told the crowd during the show.
DJ Khaled, who opened for the Carters, also asked the "OTRII Tour" crowd to "send some love to Aretha" before playing her hit "Respect."
