There is a new parenting label making the headlines. Have you heard of, "helicopter parents?" This is a parent that walks their adult children through life and doesn't let them try and fail on their own. Some examples are parents that:
- Help them study for college
- Write parts or all of a job or internship application
- Decide which career they should pursue
- Helped them get the job or internship through their network
- Pay their rent or daily expenses
- Write a school essay or assignment
- Make appointments for their child
- Wake them up for work or school
- Call their child's employer if they have any issues at work
We get it, you love your child and want to see them succeed, but growing up means making mistakes and learning from them.
