The Federal Trade Commission is investigating Facebook to determine whether the company violated rules about the unethical distribution and collection of your private data. Facebook is facing growing pressure to explain the actions of Cambridge Analytica in the 2016 presidential election which reportedly collected private data from the profiles of 50 million Facebook users without their consent to help President Trump's campaign.
The Senate judiciary subcommittee has questions for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg about why they knew this since late 2015 but did not suspend Cambridge Analytica or notify users whose private data was taken. Facebook stock has lost more than ten percent of its value over the past two days.
