An emergency alert was just pushed out to all of our phones that due to the extreme temperatures, all are encouraged to lower their heat to 65 or less through Friday.
As we face these record-breaking cold temperatures, this is definitely going to be a tough one. Consumers Energy Co. CEO Patti Poppe is asking customers to reduce your thermostat as much as you can.
The request comes in the wake of a fire at Consumers' Ray Natural Gas Compressor Station in Armada Township at10:33 a.m., the company said in a Wednesday news release. Consumers Energy has asked its largest business customers to cut down on heat while it contains the incident, but Poppe's video sounded a more urgent alarm.
