The FBI has recovered Tom Brady's stolen Super Bowl 51 jersey, and the Houston Police Department says it was tracked to Mexico.
The NFL says Tom's Super Bowl 49 jersey was also secretly stolen, and has also been recovered, along with a pair of cleats and a Denver Broncos helmet most likely belonging to Von Miller.
The NFL says the jerseys were found in the possession of a "credentialed member of the international media." That man has now been identified as Mauricio Ortega, a former executive at a Mexican news organization called "Diario La Prensa." La Prensa says Ortega resigned from his position on March 14th. The paper also says it was unaware of the investigation into Ortega until yesterday.
The jersey went missing in the minutes after Brady and the Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in the last Super Bowl.
A video later surfaced that showed Brady searching through his equipment bag for the jersey while insisting that he "100 percent" put it in there.
