Kendall Jenner's new Pepsi commercial was trending on social media last night. Why? Because no one gets it.
In the ad, Kendall's on a modeling shoot in NYC when she sees a protest or rally of some sort streaming past her, holding signs and demonstrating in the streets. She then rips off the blonde wig she's wearing, joins the protesters, and then hands a cop a can of Pepsi at the end and everybody starts cheering for her.
The commercial faced immediate backlash, with many labeling it "tone-deaf," and a "complete disaster".
Some say the protesters are styled after anti-Donald Trump “resistance” demonstrators.
Some critics took aim at the ad’s apparent suggestion that sharing a POP with a police officer could end racial discrimination, while others joked about Pepsi's ‘life-saving’ qualities.
Some people are confused about what it's supposedly depicting, while others simply just HATE IT.
In a statement, Pepsi said the commercial was created to show different people from across the world coming together.
