Celebrities Donate to Hurricane Harvey Relief Funds

In a new Instagram post Jennifer Lopez and her bf Alex Rodriguez talked about their efforts to help those in need in Texas.  They are donating $25,000 each.

Sandra Bullock donated a million dollars to the Red Cross with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

The Oscar-winning actress is a long-time supporter of the American Red Cross and has a home in Texas. She is encouraging others to help those devastated by flooding and destruction caused by Harvey along the state’s gulf coast.

The Kardashians have stepped up to the plate in a huge way, giving $500,000 to The Red Cross and The Salvation Army yesterday. 

And Coldplay announced that they’re postponing their concert at NRG Stadium in Houston, due to Hurricane Harvey. 

During their show at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Monday, they honored those who have been affected by the devastating storm.Lead singer Chris Martin said, "We were supposed to play in Houston on Friday. We were there in the morning and we were hoping it would be OK, and of course the hurricane was coming. A lot of people were supposed to come for the concert and we let them down, and a lot of people didn't want us to do the concert; some did. We're so grateful to all of you who come to our shows, and canceling shows is not something we like to do. But in this instance, we kind of had to."

He said they wrote a song called “Houston #1” for the people suffering through the storm, and explained where he and his bandmates came up with the inspiration for the tribute song.

He said, "We all grew up loving country music, and of course that's what we think of when we go to Texas. If you'll bear with us, this is a new song, and we'll never play this again. It's a one-off..."
