Protests in St. Louis continued all weekend over the acquittal of a white police officer in the death of a black drug dealer. Protesters have been breaking windows and throwing bricks at police. The police have been so busy with the riots that they pulled out of providing security for two big concerts, which caused the shows to get cancelled.
One of the shows was U2. The band said: ”We have been informed by the St. Louis Police Department that they are not in a position to provide the standard protection for our audience.” They said calling off the show was “the only acceptable course of action in the current environment.”
The other concert that was cancelled was Ed Sheeran’s sold out show, he was supposed to play last night but said calling it off "was in everyone's best interest."
