Kensington Palace releasing a whole bunch of details about the upcoming Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle yesterday.
Miss Markle intends to become a UK citizen, but will still be a US citizen at the time of their wedding, which will be taking place in May at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
It's unknown if Meghan will retain her US citizenship and become a dual national; Regardless, she DOES have to go through the tedious three-year process to become an official Brit. Having a British spouse does not entitle her to automatic citizenship … even if he IS the Prince.
So she’s gonna have to start studying up: Applicants must prove they have a good knowledge of English and life in the UK: British values, traditions, history and everyday life.
The queen will attend the wedding, which will be paid for by the royal family.
Meghan will also be baptized in the Church of England prior to the wedding.
