MTV president Chris McCarthy said the “Total Request Live” reboot isn’t being cancelled, contrary to all of the rumors. He says it's actually expanding. (We smell a spin here!)
He said there will now be two additional “TRL” shows, one in the morning and one at night. McCarthy said the show has done a great job of reaching a younger audience.
When “TRL” returns on April 9th, it will be targeted to 12-24-year-olds. The half-hour show that airs twice a week at 11 PM will expand to four nights a week in the next few months.
The morning show which is currently titled, “Total Request A.M.” will be an hour long, but an exact start time isn’t known.
