“The Simpsons” is removing Kwik-E-Mart owner Apu after a backlash over the Indian character's racial stereotyping.
Apu is one of the show’s most well-known characters, but a documentary last year called “The Problem with Apu” sparked a debate over whether he was a racial stereotype or not.
Now, sources say the character is going to dropped from the show. They aren’t going to make a big deal out of it, but they’ll drop him simply to avoid any more controversy.
