Melania Trump unveiled the White House Christmas decorations this week, and people are ripping ‘em apart.
The Internet very quickly pointed out that the 'blood red' Christmas trees are very reminiscent of HULU's "The Handmaid's Tale".
Red plays heavily in the decor this year, which includes 14,000 crimson-colored ornaments on 29 trees in the Grand Foyer and Cross Hall as well as 40 cranberry-covered trees that line the East Hall. A White House spokesperson said, "The White House says the choice of red is an extension of the stripes found in the presidential seal designed by our Founding Fathers. It’s a symbol of valor and bravery.”
The Internet, though, is calling it CREEPY - and comparing the trees to the red dresses worn by the Offred and her fellow handmaids on the show.
