Kid Rock was relieved of his duties as Grand Marshal of Nashville’s 2018 Christmas Parade this past Saturday.
Parade organizers filled Kid Rock’s spot with James Shaw Jr., better known as the Waffle House hero. He’s the guy who thwarted a mass shooting in Nashville in April.
Kid Rock got the boot because of some comments he made about Joy Behar from “The View” while he was on Fox & Friends on Friday. They were shooting on location in downtown Nashville at Kid Rock’s newly-opened Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse.
After taking a swig of whiskey and asking people to come together, Kid Rock said: “I would say, love everybody. . . except screw that Joy Behar bitch.” Host Steve Doocy apologized for the language. Kid Rock did, too. He said: “I apologize for the language, not the sentiment.”
Nashville Mayor David Briley was considering sitting out the event. His spokesman said, “If Kid Rock is still the grand marshal tomorrow, the mayor is inclined not to participate.”
