Inside the mag, she opens up about her bipolar disorder, her ongoing battle with staying sober, and being a survivor of sexual assault.
Halsey was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 17 following a suicide attempt, and says she tries to stay sober every day.
She said, “I support my whole family. I have multiple houses, I pay taxes, I run a business. I just can’t be out getting f--ked up all the time.”
In regards to facing her sexual abuser, she says she “worked too hard to be categorized by that" and when she confronted him, he "took it seriously, went to rehab, and sought therapy."
Something else she confessed to: she has been committed TWICE due to her battle with mental health issues. And kept it secret ... until now.
She says, “I’m not ashamed of talking about it now. It’s been my choice. I've said to my manager, 'Hey, I’m not going to do anything bad right now, but I’m getting to the point where I’m scared that I might, so I need to go figure this out.'"
