Man Charged In Connection With Mac Miller's Death

MTV's "Wonderland" LIVE Show - Thursday, September 22, 2016

A Los Angeles man was arrested yesterday for selling counterfeit opioid pills to Mac Miller two days before he died of an overdose.

Mac was found dead at his home almost exactly a year ago (September 7th, 2018).

Cameron James Pettit appeared in court and was ordered to be held without bond. He is set to be arraigned on October 11th.

A Drug Enforcement Agency affidavit alleges that Miller asked Pettit for oxycodone and other drugs (cocaine and Xanax) two days before Miller overdosed, and that's when Pettit gave Miller counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.

An autopsy found that Mac died from an accidental overdose, via a combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.

Authorities found drugs they believe were from Pettit in Miller's home and evidence that Miller had crushed and sniffed oxycodone provided by Pettit.
