The public feud between Britney Spears and sister Jamie Lynn got worse over the holiday weekend.
After a bitter back-and-forth Thursday and into Friday, Britney posted a lengthy tweet in which she calls her younger sister "scum".
Britney slammed various statements made by Jamie Lynn in her new book and in interviews. For example, Jamie Lynn alleges that Britney once became "scared," grabbed a knife, and locked the two of them in a room. She also alleges that Britney once "got in [her] face" while Jamie Lynn was holding her daughter Ivey, now 3, during their pandemic quarantine.
On Saturday, Britney wrote, "We are supposed to have each other's back … but what you're saying just truly confuses me !!! All I know is I love you unconditionally !!! So go ahead and say whatever you want …it's so tacky for a family to fight publicly like this !!! You say you love me … yet your loyalty is still with the people that hurt me the most !!!"
Later, Jamie Lynn Spears posted on her Instagram Story, "Britney- Just call me, I have attempted many times to speak to you directly and handle this privately like sisters should, but you still choose to do everything on a public platform.In the meantime, please stop continuing the narrative that I haven't been there for you or that I'm making things up. I'm happy to share how many time I've reached out to you, supported you and tried to help you. This is embarrassing and has to stop. love you. @britneyspears"
