Adele’s Las Vegas residency was allegedly destined for trouble before she made her fans aware that she was postponing shows.
Sources close to Adele say the residency – which was scheduled to kick off last Thursday night and run through mid-April – was “heading for disaster” because of Adele’s “explosive arguments” with her set designer.
Sources say even though Esmeralda Devlin is the best of the best in the business when it comes to set design (she's worked with Adele before, too!) and even though the set cost MILLIONS to put together, Adele wasn’t happy with the result.
That started her downward spiral when it came to the residency.
Then came endless changes to the set list and running order. And a lack of clarity over how she envisioned the show. It seemed that while Adele has always preferred a stripped-back performance, she was under some pressure to come up with a huge extravaganza. So there was a constant ricochet between those two versions of what the show should be, and it did cause some quite explosive arguments.
