The 2022 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit will hit stands Thursday and will feature Kim Kardashian, as well as Elon Musk’s mom Maye, singer Ciara on the cover.
Kim posed in a nude SKIMS bikini with matching sheer gloves for the cover.
She wrote a note to her younger self for the issue. She opened up about becoming a “more private person” and learning to put her family first.
Kim wrote, “The way to get your story out there - the actual narrative, the truth - isn't by engaging but by doing.”
Sports Illustrated previously announced that they will only include ads from brands that show a commitment to supporting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Some readers weren’t happy Kim is on the cover. They called Sports Illustrated “embarrassing”, “disappointing” and “pathetic”, while others said they would not be purchasing this year’s issue.
Another person pointed out that there were “plenty of other available people that could have used the exposure.”
Users slammed the magazine for putting Kim on the cover because she uses photoshop and has undergone plastic surgery, rather than promoting “natural beauty."
