Emilia Clarke has opened up about her experience surviving two brain aneurysms while making "Game of Thrones", expressing gratitude that she has been able to recover after losing “quite a bit” of her brain.
She played Daenerys Targaryen in "Game of Thrones" from 2011 to 2019, said that she was lucky to have survived her health problems, but had missing parts to her brain.
Speaking on BBC One's Sunday Morning, she said: "The amount of my brain that is no longer usable – it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions.
"I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that."
After seeing a scan of her brain, Emilia said: ‘There’s quite a bit missing! Which always makes me laugh…"
She launched her own charity, SameYou, in 2019 to support others recovering from brain injuries.
