Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and was administered CPR before being driven away in an ambulance during Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The game was suspended for the night after the injury.

The NFL later announced that Hamlin is listed in critical condition at UC Medical Center. He had suffered cardiac arrest.

The injury happened when Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins after a completion. He got to his feet, appeared to adjust his face mask with his right hand, and then fell backward about three seconds later and lay motionless.

At one point, Hamlin's uniform was cut off and he was given CPR from medical personnel. ESPN reported on its telecast that Hamlin was also given oxygen.

Hamlin’s agent Jordan Rooney released a statement at 10:30 PM:

"Update on Damar:

His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests.

We will provide updates as we have them."
