Actor Jeremy Renner shared a selfie from his hospital bed in an Instagram post.
He wrote, "Thanks you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."
At a press conference yesterday, the Washoe County Sheriff disclosed details of the snow plow accident that critically injured Renner. He said Renner was hit by his own snow plow while trying to free his vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, from snow near his Tahoe-area home.
Renner "went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat in an effort to get his vehicle moving.” The sheriff said Renner got out of the Pistenbully to speak to his family member after freeing the vehicle, and then the PistenBully started to roll. Renner was run over as he tried to get in the driver's seat to stop the rolling Pistenbully.
The sheriff said it was a "tragic accident and there was no sign Renner was impaired at the time. Three feet of fresh snow had fallen in the area and it was difficult for emergency services to get past the many abandoned vehicles on the way to Renner's home.
