"John Wick: Chapter 4", the fourth installment in the Keanu Reeves assassin series, debuted with a franchise-best $73.5 million at the box office.
Its the best opening of the franchise on a domestic and international scale. It even completely outgrossed the first film's worldwide haul of $76 million. Domestically this weekend outgrossed Chapter 1 and Chapter 2's opening weekend combined.
Meanwhile, "Shazam: Fury of the Gods" sunk 68% from last week's debut to $9.7 million. Its domestic haul now stands at $43.8 million.
"Scream VI" earned $8.4 million, "Creed III" $8.37 million and "65" notched $3.25 million to round out the weekend Top 5.
